Adrantis V 40K campaign
The battle for Adrantis V
Adrantis V was home to a highly technologically advanced race that humanity encountered during the Macharian Crusade in Segmentum Pacificus. Macharius ordered the exterminatus of the planet, which was performed by redirecting a comet. The damage caused to the planets surface and atmosphere made the world too inhospitable to visit, but over two centuries Imperial scientists have worked to stabilise the planet so that the Adaptus Mechanicus can try and recover some of the lost technology.
The forces of Chaos, and other enemies of the Imperium will not sit idly by and have watched carefully, biding their time and preparing for this moment. Adrantis V may be a world already broken by conflict but war… war never changes.
Adrantis V – One day 500pt 40k campaign
Players should split themselves as evenly as possible into two forces Forces of the Imperium and Enemies of the Imperium. The campaign consists of 3 games, the rules for which are below.
Game 1
Even as the Imperial Forces landed on Adrantis V the Imperial Navy fleet around Adrantis V detected the first enemy vessels moving towards the planet. Although the fleet fought a valiant holding action to buy the ground forces time to prepare defences they were outnumbered and outclassed, battered and bruised they had to pull back.
The first wave of attackers suffered greatly at the hands of the Imperial defence lasers, but the troops that made it through quickly began to assault these weapons. If the Imperial forces couldn’t hold them back, they would have no way to stop the enemy’s reinforcements.
Rules
As this campaign day will include a number of new players, opponents in the first game should try and pair up experienced players against new players. It is important to remember that this isn’t a competitive event.
The first mission should be played using D3+2 objectives, and rolling for deployment type.
Reward
Whoever is successful will have control of the orbit around Adrantis V and can bring in forces by teleporter.
Whichever force gets the most wins gains the ability to hold back any one infantry unit during game 3 for deepstrike (one attached character allowed).
Game 2
The fighting on Adrantis V quickly turned into a battle of attrition. The Imperial forces were greatly outnumbered but had reinforcements only days away, fighting for their very survival they tried to slow the enemy advance by engaging them in small skirmishes.
The enemy forces continue to press towards the precious technological excavations knowing they have the upper hand but only a limited amount of time.
Rules
Players should where possible pair up with opponents who received the same result in game 1 (winners with winners etc).
The game should be played using the KP rules, with players again rolling for deployment type.
Reward
If the Imperial forces are successful they can slow the enemy advance allowing the final defences to be finished, if they fail the enemy will reach the Imperial lines before they are fully prepared.
Whoever wins counts as winning the roll to choose who goes first in game 3.
Game 3
Just hours before the Imperial fleet sent to support the defenders will arrive the final battle for control of technological wonders of Adrantis V begins. The Imperial forces prepare to sell their lives dearly in the name of the God Emperor as the opposing forces take to the field of battle determined to eradicate them and claim this prize for their masters.
Rules
Players should split themselves into teams of 2-3 players and face off against equally sized teams from the other force.
The game should use the 2 objective mission type and Dawn of War deployment.
Also, don’t forget the rewards from the earlier 2 games!
